Handback marketing site — Let's get it home

The problem

A carrier drops your package on the wrong doorstep and it effectively vanishes. The only fixes were knocking on doors, posting in neighborhood groups, or eating the loss.

The idea

Let the person holding the parcel report it, and let the person missing it prove it's theirs. Information only flows toward the verified recipient — nobody can look anybody up.

Three small steps. One good return.

01

Photograph the label

A finder snaps the shipping label and the parcel. Vision OCR and barcode decoding pull out the delivery details — no typing out an address.

02

We find the recipient

Name and address matching against verified users finds the rightful owner. The finder never learns whether a match happened.

03

Hand it over nearby

The recipient verifies their identity, both sides agree on a porch pickup or a public spot, and a private pickup code closes the loop.

Inside the app

Real screens from the shipped build — warm paper surfaces, bronze accents, and a flow that never asks for more than two photos.

Designed to feel like a neighbor, not a database.

The whole brand leans warm and editorial — paper tones, a bronze accent, Crimson Pro headlines against Cabinet Grotesk body text. The mark is a box seen from above, half-open, mid-return.

Under the hood

Two Bun services behind a hardened edge, one shared mobile codebase, and privacy enforced at the protocol level rather than the policy level.

Client

  • Kotlin Multiplatform shared core
  • SwiftUI on iOS, Compose on Android
  • One codebase, both stores

Edge

  • Bun + Hono public gateway
  • Redis-backed global rate limits
  • Firebase App Check on every call

Core

  • Bun + Hono + Drizzle + Postgres
  • pg_trgm fuzzy name/address matching
  • Better Auth with guest sessions

Intelligence

  • GPT-5 mini vision label OCR
  • zxing barcode decoding
  • Address normalization pipeline

Trust

  • Didit government ID verification
  • Anti-enumeration responses
  • USPS mail refused by statute

Platform

  • APNs + FCM push
  • Resend email, EasyPost tracking
  • R2 storage, PostHog analytics

The API contract is frozen for shipped clients — every change is additive, gated by coverage and static-analysis checks before it reaches production.
